Getting Around

 The island is pretty small and George Town can get very busy. The Shops (including grocery stores and supermarkets) are all closed on Sundays so please plan accordingly when considering when to shop. If you wish to time trips to George Town or schedule excursions to popular areas you may wish to review the Cruise Ship schedules to see how many potential visitors there will be on what days. While a car is beneficial (and recommended)  it is possible to get around without one. There are public buses and taxis that frequent the area.

Public Buses are minibuses which carry up to 12 passengers. There are 2 routes (Yellow & Green) that run approximately every 15 minutes past Coconut Bay and both go down Seven Mile Beach to George Town. Fares are between CI$2.50 and CI$5 depending on destination. They run from 6am until about 11pm and can be flagged by standing by the road and giving the driver a wave when he honks his horn. http://thebusschedule.com/ky/
